My daughter (13 yrs old) and I wanted to complete a PADI Open Water Course. On our trip to Bali in July 2011, we met Made, who was our instructor for three days of serious learning and training in Amed. We quickly felt confident, that we had a very competent instructor in Made. High and suitable expectations to our diving skills, friendly to talk to and very clear in non-verbal communication when we were diving. After the dives we could laugh together at one of his handsignals underwater, when he wanted us to think. In Denmark that handsignal means; "you are stupid". I completed my Padi Open Water Certificate in August 2011 with Made in Tulamben, Bali.
To be honest I really struggled with the training and on a number of occasions I was ready to quit. Made knew I was having a hard time of it and did everything he could to make it easy and comfortable for me. If I didn't have Made as my Instructor, I don’t think I would have finished it. With his constant faith in me and encouragement I finally got there! Thanks to him I now get to visit a whole new fantastic world and see beautiful sights such as swimming with turtles – you can’t beat it!
